FAQ
How do we get in contact with the survivors?
Human trafficking hotlines connect survivors to safe houses. Our network of safe houses and partnerships reach out to us when aviation relocation services are needed. We coordinate details through leadership on both ends of the relocation. Most often, we do not have contact with the survivor until the day of the relocation as security needs to remain a priority for the individual.
How many safe houses / programs do we partner with?
Roughly 70 outreach and safehouse partners combined.
Where are they primarily located?
The safehouses that Wings of the Way has approved and are currently partnered with are all throughout the country from coast to coast.
How can interested safehouses become part of our relocation network?
Out of an abundance of security for our survivors, please reach out directly to info@wingsoftheway.org to begin our application process or have a deeper conversation on this topic.
If you are a Christian anti-trafficking ministry interested in utilizing our services, please reach out to us using the form below. Please specify that you are seeking to learn more about ministry partnership, and someone from our team will reach out to you with information on next steps.
What is the average cost of a relocation?
The cost to rescue and relocate a survivor can vary due to circumstances. Factoring in fuel, airline tickets, the volunteer training for an advocate required, and resources provided to the survivor along the way, this cost averages around $1,500.00. Each cent of the relocation cost is covered by Wings of the Way and our generous donors. Those who give and volunteer know that each survivor is absolutely worth infinitely more.
What is the average amount of time a relocation takes?
It takes an average of 5 days to prepare for and carry out a single survivor relocation.
How many volunteers/staff are needed for an average relocation?
Every relocation is tailored to the needs of each survivor, the numbers can vary, but an average of 4 people are usually required to accomplish one mission.
What makes Wings of the Way different from other rescue organizations?
There are many organizations working in prevention, awareness, and long-term restoration; however, WOW is one of the only organizations that specializes in relocation via aviation transportation.
Transportation is a key element in the emergency relocation process. There are many instances when a survivor escapes or is rescued from a life of pain and abuse, but the window available to safely relocate a survivor is very small. WOW provides aviation relocation services to ensure the survivor is transported to a safe house as fast as possible. In this way, WOW provides a unique service that eliminates many of the obstacles that prevent a survivor from being freed from their situation. We coordinate relocations with the safety of the survivor in mind, so our aim is to be responsive, easy, and low-stress.
Wings of the Way also provides advocates on each flight to ensure that the survivor arrives safely to their destination and are supported each step of the way.
What is trafficking?
Human trafficking is a global problem that affects tens of thousands of people in the United States each year. It continues to plague (but is not limited to) every major city in the US. Human trafficking is a form of modern slavery that exploits men, women and children for profit. It is a crime in which individuals force, fraud or trick another individual into commercial sex acts.
Does Wings of the Way coordinate international rescues?
At this time, Wings of the Way is focused on relocations within the United States.
How can individuals request help?
Wings of the Way works with vetted Christian safehouse programs to facilitate transportation requests. If you are a survivor, please call Rescue America to work with an exit team who will help assist you with action steps to help you out of your situation. If you are already in contact with a residential safehouse program, please have them reach out to us using the “Request Transportation” tab located on the upper right corner of the website.
If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 9-1-1.
To safely and securely exit the sex industry and begin a new life call the rescue hotline
operated by Rescue America, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at (833) 599-3733.
How can I pray for Wings of the Way?
Our most pressing prayer request is always the spiritual safety of everyone involved. This work is a fight against the darkest of evils. Survivors who have the courage to leave the situations they are in require much prayer, comfort, and support during their time of transition. Second to that is the need for physical and emotional safety for everyone involved. With safety measures in place, please pray that each relocation is accomplished with ease and that the warmth of the advocate would bring peace to the survivor.
